Global Retail Company Implements Workday to Establish Brand Uniqueness and Optimize Processes

After 25 years on antiquated HR software, a global lifestyle and retail company contacted CrossVue to help them make an enterprise-wide switch to Workday. The retail brand was not only looking to transform their HR technology landscape; they also wanted an all-encompassing HR software to continue to build upon for years to come.

The Challenge

The global retail company was primarily seeking to remove the friction they’d been encountering running their business on outdated HR software. The technology was difficult to modify and update, and the company wanted to use their data in meaningful ways to optimize business processes, establish brand uniqueness within a global framework, and streamline timekeeping.

The Solution

To begin the Workday transformation and implementation for the global retail company, CrossVue started with Workday’s optimized business processes–which takes knowledge from Workday’s nearly 2,000 clients and distills down their approach into an industry standard. The design of this approach turns traditional implementations on their head and asks questions like “Why won’t this work for you?” which helped the global retail company standardize, particularly across various parts of their business. Using Workday’s methodology framework in tandem with CrossVue’s framework, CrossVue Complete, CrossVue was able to help the global retail company get much more value out of their system–and do so faster than other traditional ERPs.

Since the global retail company is a collection of distinctive brands, it was also extremely important for the CrossVue team to help each brand maintain their uniqueness within the global retail umbrella as they made the switch to Workday. CrossVue engaged the flexibility of Workday’s technology to distinguish the brands appropriately without compromising the global framework.

To help set the global retail brand up with a solid foundation in Workday, CrossVue also partnered with them to transform timekeeping. During implementation, an internal analysis found the brand’s time codes were stretched across 21 different entities. CrossVue worked with them to consolidate the time codes, creating a streamlined and standardized timekeeping system that will enhance clarity for the brand, and the 21 entities, setting them up for future success.

The Impact

With the new Workday system in place, the global retail company has noted the incredible ease of use they’re now experiencing with the system. They’ve continued to work with CrossVue as a post-production services client, which means CrossVue will help with their day-to-day operations, and they’ll be working with CrossVue beyond the first phase of their Workday implementation.

As a company with nontraditional work environments and multiple retail stores, a huge success for the retail company was setting up iPads and computers for their front-end workers due to their switch to Workday. Employees and managers now have easy-to-use Workday technology at their fingertips, streamlining processes across the board.
