Overview
Guest Services was created in 1917 with the goal of providing exceptional food services to government facilities in Washington, D.C. Since then, it has grown to employ thousands of team members at more than 25 facilities nationwide catering to over 35 million annual guests. To support their continuous expansion and innovation, Guest Services wanted one fully comprehensive technology system to move off an antiquated financials system and integrate their HCM simultaneously in a new, modern platform.
The Challenge
To better support their consistent delivery of the highest hospitality management solutions, Guest Services needed to replace their 15-year-old financial system that was inflexible and difficult to maintain. Critical to this transition was Guest Services’ desire to simultaneously move to a new HR system, fully integrating HR processes and data into one complete system that would create more employee and manager self-service opportunities. With employees all over the country working with private and public businesses, in national and state parks, at for-profit and nonprofit companies, Guest Services was eager to deploy Workday to elevate their employee experience and empower them to fully focus on consistently providing unparalleled hospitality.
The Solution
Guest Services enlisted CrossVue to implement their Workday platform. With similar cultures and working styles, CrossVue fulfilled Guest Services’ requirements by thinking outside of the box and using forms to incorporate Workday data to automate tasks within Workday itself, also known as boomerang integrations, that Guest Services required. The teams communicated frequently, scheduled working and testing sessions, and measured progress against key milestones to ensure a successful Workday deployment.

With the go-live of their Workday platform complete, Guest Services is now operating on one fully integrated system–creating ease of use, business efficiency, and enhanced self-service for their managers and employees. The integration of their financial and HR systems into one complete system ensures Guest Services has the flexibility and data availability they desire, pulling real-time reports when needed and reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets. With Workday supporting their operations, the entire Guest Services team can now focus fully on providing staffing, equipment, supplies, and all forms of hospitality at some of the country’s most acclaimed locations.
